Two out of Three
from Red Devils
Warren County closed out their regular season against Lincoln County Tuesday night. The Screaming Devils won two and lost one on the night as they get ready to begin region tournament action next week.
The night began with the J.V. Screaming Devils coming up with a lopsided win over the J.V. Red Devils. Warren County took the lead early on and the outcome was never really in doubt from there. The Screaming Devils went on to win by a score of 55-43.
The second game proved to be the most exciting of the evening for much of the game. The Lady Red Devils got off to a quick start against the Lady Screaming Devils, yet Warren County managed to rally and keep the game close for much of the night. After trailing early in the first quarter, Warren County found themselves with a three point lead at the half by a score of 23-20. The third quarter was back-and-forth between the two teams. Neither team was able to build much of an advantage and the period ended with the score tied at 36. After scoring 28 points in the game, 25 of which came in the first half, Candice Warthen's back injury flared up again forcing her to the bench for much of the fourth quarter. Lincoln County took advantage of the absence of the Warren County star and began to build a lead. Lincoln went on to win by a score of 55-44.
