Booster Club Holds Golf Tournament

The Warren County Booster Club held their first golf tournament to benefit the athletic programs of Warren County Schools. The tournament was, by all accounts, an overwhelming success. Twenty teams competed in the inaugural event held at The Club At Whiterock.

The day began with a putting constest held on the practice green. Russell Farmer, Randy Tucker, and Jose Granadas came in first, second and third respectively. The putting constest was sponsered by Tony Mimbs and Acme/Milner Business Technologies.

First place in the gross score category for the tournament was the team sponsored by C & C Tire. The C & C team consisted of Jose Granados, Tommy Wangness, Stewart Young, and Aaron Cobb. Second place in the gross score category went to the Habersham Bank team of Don Wren, Randy Johnson, Alan Foreman, and Joey Kaney.

Taking home first place net honors was the team of Russell Farmer, Todd Wyrosdick, Sammy Sparkman, and Lindy Tudor. Placing second in the net score category was the Bogger Farms team of Craig Hunter, Alan Moon, Charles Raley, and Mark Ackerman. The Acme/Milner Business Technologies team of Tony Mimbs, David Newton, and Marty Pinion also won prize money for dubious honor of the highest net score.
