The action began with the JV Devils taking the court first. The JV team set the tone for the night as they dispatched the Tigers by a score of 63-43. Jacques Moss led the scoring for the Screaming Devils with 15.
The Lady Devils looked to get back to their winning form after a tough loss to Hancock Saturday night. Warren County looked to be out to prove they are still the team to beat as the defeated the Lady Tigers 63-32.
Washington-Wilkes managed to keep the game close in the first half as they went to the locker room down by only 9. The second half was all Warren County, however, as the Devils outscored the Tigers by 18 in the final period.
Leading scorer for Warren County was Candice Warthen with 34 points and 7 steals. Takesia Harris had 9 points and Lakerria Williams contributed 8 points and 8 rebounds.
The boy's varsity team then took the court with a mission to prove that they were a much improved team since the first meeting of the two schools. The Screaming Devils had to come from 11 points down in the 4th quarter to win by only 2 at Washington-Wilkes. The second meeting would leave little doubt that the Devils have improved this season.
Warren County led the entire contest. After leading by 9 at the half, Warren County opened the second half by outscoring the Tigers 29-16 in the 3rd period. The Devils went on to win by a score of 77-60.
Stanley Johnson was the leading scorer with 25 on the evening. Darius Jenkins contributed 15 and Dondracus Dozier had 12 points.
