Screaming Devils
take two from
Glascock County

The Warren County Screaming Devils played host to the Panters of Glascock County Tuesday night. Both Varsity teams took the court to begin the busiest week of the season for Warren County Basketball. Both varsity teams will see action two times this week, the J.V. team will be in action Saturday night against Hancock, and the Middle School will play Wednesday and Thursday at home as well.

The Lady Devils seemed to be a little flat coming off the drama filled Saturday night against Thomson. The Panthers scored first and managed to keep the game tight through first quarter. With 2:00 to go in the first quarter, the score was tied at 7-7. Warren County only managed two points over the next two minutes and ended the first quarter with the lead by a score of 9-7. The Lady Devils began to pick up the pace somewhat and extended their lead at half-time to 23-17. Warren County came out of the locker room with purpose and dominated the second half. The Lady Devils went on to win the game by a score of 53-33.

The boy's team wasted no time getting off to a fast start against the Panthers when they took the court. Travis Burley gave the sparse crowd what they wanted to see by showcasing his dunking ability early in the first quarter. It was apparent that Screaming Devils would have little trouble with the Panthers by the end of the first half. Warren County went on to win 88-33.

The Screaming Devils are in action again, at home, against Hancock Central. The Bulldogs came away with a victory at home in the first meeting of the year between the two teams. The Devils will be looking to turn the table on the Bulldogs when they meet this week in Warrenton.
