WCMS Soccer Program Continues Improving

Warren County Middle School's soccer team continued to show improvement Monday.  The Devils took to the field against Wrens Middle School in what amounted to their most competitive game of the season.

The Devils scored their first goal of the program's history in the first half of the contest.  Stedman Hall scored on a shot that hooked past the Wrens goalie to tie the contest 1-1.  The half would end on the same score and mark the first time that the Devils had not been trailing at the end of the first half.

The numbers game seemed to take a toll on the Devils in the second half.  The Colts began to substitute fresh legs into the game and used depth as an advantage to take control of the game.  Wrens scored 3 goals in the second half to win by the score of 4-1.

Coach Dominguez was extremely pleased with the performance of his team.  "We didn't have as many kids as they have, and our team got tired," stated Dominguez, "but excitement for the program is growing as the team improves."  Coach Dominguez is especially proud of the play of his goalie, Tylexia Few.  Few has improved each game and played a key role in keeping Monday's game close by blocking several goal attempts, including a penalty kick.
